19:25 - 20:45

The central theme of this year’s Plenary Session will be

"Technovision 2009 -2012: rise from the downturn economy"

The speed of change we face today is historical. Not only the financial sector is in a big transition, the economy as a whole is affected by the biggest change in customer demands since many decades. At the same time technological progress and the speed of information itself are creating new opportunities. Now that we realize that we move from the mechanical age of speed, into the digital age of real time, the main question is “How to deal with it?”

  • How does your organization cope with those changes?
  • How do you define a new strategy for IT based on the seven new Technovision clusters?
  • Where do I find recession tools, how do I protect the essentials, where can I move forward?

It’s not only that we want to address these questions. Together with our partners we want to look for creative solutions to empower new possibilities. From solutions for real-time business-process control, to sensing networks and the google-fication of your company, including rich internet apps, software-as-a-service and role-based user portals.

Speakers of this session will be Michiel Boreel, CTO of Sogeti Group and Menno van Doorn, director of VINT, the Research Institute of Sogeti Group and co-author of the new ViNT book Me the Media. In 2007 Menno has been awarded ‘IT Researcher of the Year’ by VNU/Computable. In “Me the Media”, Menno introduces the concept of media mass to distinguish the web dynamic from the mass media. “Me the Media” will also be presented during the plenary session.
