Senior Linux/Windows Consultant

The Senior Linux/Windows Consultant is responsible for managing a cloud environment and customer environments. The scope of the function includes servicing change requests, incidents and problems to maintain the system-quality at level and improve the technical platform, the process and the service.

Your tasks will be:

  • Service change and incident requests
  • Analyse, evaluate and implement change-requests
  • Analyse, evaluate and solve incidents and problems
  • Ensure the service level agreements to be respected
  • Maintain system quality at level
  • Perform continuous improvement based on incidents, problems, risks, etc …
  • Perform capacity management on business-, service- and component-level
  • Contribute to the patching and hardening processes
  • Improve the technical platform
  • Share knowledge with the team members
  • Identify opportunities and make proposals to improve the system
  • Participate in the implementation of technical projects to improve, standardize and modernize the environment
  • Improve process and service
  • Contribute to the development and follow up of SLA’s
  • Participate to the identification, implementation and update of KPI’s for the service
  • Identify opportunities and implement measures to improve the process
  • Support the Audit and Security regulation processes



  • You have at least 5 years of experience as a System Engineer/Administrator 
  • Mandatory knowledge and experience in following areas:
    • Linux/Unix expertise (advanced)
    • Windows Server 2008 & 2012
    • Active Directory 2008 & 2012
    • Windows Clustering techniques
    • VMWare vSphere, vCenter, VCB, SRM, …
    • TCP/IP & LAN & WAN expertise
    • Networking and Security
  • Knowledge in one or more of the following areas is an asset:
    • Veeam Backup and Replication, Backup Exec Windows Server Backup, TSM
    • Scripting (Batch, VBS, PowerShell)
    • Citrix XenApp, Citrix XenDesktop
    • IBM and/or HP Hardware
    • Software Distribution concepts
    • Frameworks MS SCCM
    • Windows patch management (WSUS)
    • Windows Terminal Services
    • SAN & NAS concepts
    • SAN HBA usage & connectivity
    • Storage virtualisation
    • Knowledge of ITIL
  • You are a teamplayer and problem solver. You have good communication-, organization- and documentation skills. You are customer oriented and open for a challenge. Assertiveness and flexibility are not an issue for you.
  • You have a good knowlegde of Dutch/French and English.
