Functional Analyst

“I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.” – Jimmy Dean

Could you give us a short description of what you do at SogetiBefore joining Sogeti, I worked as a trainee at BNP Paribas Fortis, where I delivered successfully multiple projects, and where I discovered my passion for my actual job. During that period, I developed the skills to run a project in a smooth way.

Describe yourself in 3 words: customer minded, entrepreneurial and innovative

Tell us a bit about your background: As a marketer, I had the ambition to work in the retail business when I had grown up, but during an internship, I realized quickly that that wasn’t my path. At university, I got triggered by technology while taking a linking program in the field of communication sciences. This became the starting point for my professional life in the IT.

My career at Sogeti:  As a Functional Analyst, I have the opportunity to be an essential chain between the IT and the business, when helping the team to obtain results. That is: together. I use the multiple educational opportunities to prepare myself for a future as project manager.

What is a typical workday like for you? After a quick breakfast, I leave for Brussels in the early morning. When I arrive, I check on the progress of the project, and try to finish the most important tasks. At noon, I have a team meeting; the rest of the day can be planned in a flexible way, in order to leave the office before or after the traffic jams. After work, there is still enough time left to get together with friends or to go for a workout in nature.

What makes it different to work for Sogeti?

People matter, results count’ is not only a slogan pinpointed on the wall, but you can actually experience it when working at Sogeti. Together with the entire organization, we can accomplish nice results and this success is celebrated regularly!
Today, I work at ING, on a project which has to prepare the bank for a new context after the restructuring. This seems challenging, but with the right mindset, it’s a pleasure to think about how the future will look like.
