A short introduction of what you do at Sogeti:
I am the operations manager of the Digital department. I am in charge of delivery, people management and the financials of the department. Besides that it is also my task to set up the strategy of the department.

Tell us a bit about your background:
I have a degree in communication sciences, but I have always worked in a supporting IT role. In my previous jobs, I have worked as analyst, tester, Quality & Compliance engineer and sales agent.
My career at Sogeti:
When I joined Sogeti, I opted for the testing department, where I started out as test coordinator. After a few months, I was appointed as team lead at my client. Another 8 months later, the opportunity arose to become the engagement manager of the client contract. In July I made the choice to switch towards an internal position within Sogeti and start as operations manager for the Digital department
What are you most passionate about in your area of expertise?
The people! In consultancy you work with a lot of different personalities, but everyone is really motivated to help each other and to make things happen. I can honestly say that I value the interaction with people even more than the technological aspects.
What is a typical workday like for you?
As an operations manager, it is hard to define a typical day. There is so much variation in the job. Some days, I handle a lot of e-mails, other days, I visit clients or consultants. And sometimes I run in and out of internal meetings.
What makes it different to work for Sogeti?
I like the fact that Sogeti gives you a lot of opportunities to grow in your career. Of course, you need to steer your career yourself, but you are acknowledged for it. The mindset at Sogeti is also a practical one. Most Sogeti employees really want to make things happen and not just talk about it.
